Lee Otway
Lee began acting at age 7 and attended 'STAGE 84' the Yorkshire School of Performing Arts. There he was trained in all aspects of performing arts alongside the likes of Jack Shepherd (Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud) and Christian Cooke (Demons), and was fortunate enough to get his first professional TV acting job at the tender age of 8.
At age 12 he was awarded the 'Outstanding Individual Performance award' at the Barclay Awards in London, and at 13 appeared in ITV's Heartbeat, before joining the cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita on its national tour. This led to other theatre work as well as television work, both acting (Heartbeat, My Parents are Aliens) and presenting (CBBC Xchange and Scientific Eye).
At 19, Lee joined the cast of Hollyoaks as David 'Bombhead' Burke, and worked on the programme for 5 years, during which time he was nominated for a Best Actor award at the National Television Awards, as well as several other nominations. Due to overwhelming public demand, the character was briefly written back into the show in 2011.
Since leaving Hollyoaks in 2006, Lee has appeared in the film 'Mixed up' with Billy Murray and Martin Kemp, as well as pursuing his other interests - singing and writing. Lee took part in ITV's 'Soapstar Superstar' and Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes (which he won). More recently, Lee has written a sticom with BBC 3's Phillip Barron called 'That Band' (you can view a trailer at www.thatband.net). and is currently involved with several other writing projects.
